Hotel Key is very easy pms for management and staff to navigate. We have used many pms, is this is by far the simplest to learn and use.
Training does not take long and makes onboarding employees easy.
The format is nice and user friendly. It's intuative.
The mobile app is great. From your phone you can see your hotel stats. You can view check ins etc.
For an independent hotel/motel - this is perfect. It has what you need.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
When it comes to direct bill and AR, its not so simple. We needed to contact customer service several times to work on this. Additionally, the RMS side is very manual if you run promos on OTAs. You can not use any of the automated rate software, since they don't have a "rate center". This means you are manually loading discounts on otas and setting different rates for each ota and walk in rate etc.

I have HotelKey with G6 Hotels and it is the easiest PMS system I have used and I have used ChoiceAdvantage, VisualMatrix, Opera, CloudBeds, and HotelKey. It’s very simple, there’s always someone to answer your call within minutes. You can train someone within a couple hours. Though the independent hotel version looks a little different than G6, the ease of use is still the same.

I think if HotelKey also did revenue management and marketing it would be the whole package. They do need to improve the looks of the website as it looks like it was made 15 years ago.

Just that that I am able to login in anywhere but only have to because it makes so many errors.

Oversell ability, refunding 3rd party cards for recovery, moving charges from one folio to another, not being able to reinstate reservations, not being able to change room types during sold-out nights, cannot copy paste cards.

If you are looking for a solution with core PMS capability or a comprehensive suite with affordability in mind- it would be a good idea to check it out. Mobile/tablet first approach is also a plus for HotelKey, giving more flexibility for operators.
HotelKey has not yet had their customer support processes certified by Hotel Tech Report. We recommend referencing the GCSC rubric during your demo call to make sure that this vendor has strong processes in place to support customers.
This vendor does not appear to have basic support essentials. Vendors who provide top tier support maintain a knowledge base help center and product updates changelog for customers.
